Jonathan Hunn BA PhD MIFA Consultant

Jonathan is an established archaeologist with extensive experience in managing archaeological projects in the UK. He holds a first degree in Archaeology and History from the University College of North Wales (Bangor), and a PhD from the University of Southampton (Dept of Geography). A validated member of the IFA since 1994, he has held managerial posts with English Heritage, Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust, Oxford Archaeological Unit and Tempvs Reparatvm Ltd, and has acted as archaeological consultant for Hertfordshire County Council and English Heritage.

Bob Zeepvat BA MIFA Manager & Historic Buildings Consultant

Bob is an established archaeologist with a wide range of experience in managing archaeological projects in both rural and urban environments. He also has extensive experience of post-excavation work, and the publication and presentation of projects. He holds a first degree from the University of Leicester, and has been a validated member of the IFA since 1986. Bob is currently a member of the IFA Council. He has been involved in the management of archaeological projects since the late 1970s, formerly as Senior Field Archaeologist for the Milton Keynes Archaeology Unit, and as Project Manager for the Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust.

David Fell BA MA MIFA Contracts Manager

David is an archaeologist with extensive fieldwork and post-excavation experience, holding a first degree from the University of York, and a masters degree from Birmingham University. He has held a range of supervisory appointments since 1990, including Milton Keynes Archaeology Unit, Buckinghamshire County Archaeology Service, Bedfordshire County Archaeology Service, Archaeological Project Services, Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust and the Museum of London Archaeological Service.

Alastair Hancock BSc PgDip Senior Project Officer (Geophysics)

Alastair completed a first degree in Archaeological Science and a PgDip in Archaeological Prospection at the University of Bradford. He has an extensive knowledge of geophysics having completed more than two hundred fluxgate-gradiometer, magnetic susceptibility, ground penetrating radar and resistance surveys. He is familiar with AutoCAD, GIS, surveying software and geomatics, having carried out building, earthwork, landscape, set-out and tie-in surveys with total station and GPS equipment. He has also worked as a field archaeologist for The University of Bradford, Humberside Archaeological Partnership, Lancaster University Archaeological Unit and Archaeological Services WYAS.

Karin Semmelmann BA MA AIFA Project Manager (Historic Buildings)

Karin holds a first and masters degrees in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, University College, London. She has been a professional archaeologist since 2000, working for The Heritage Network in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas on a range of fieldwork and historic buildings projects. Her particular area of interest and expertise is in buildings archaeology, notably ecclesiastical sites. Karin joined ASC in 2005.

Nigel Wilson HND AIFA Project Officer

Nigel is an experienced archaeologist with extensive fieldwork and post-excavation experience, holding a HND in Practical Archaeology & Conservation Crafts from the Dorset Institute of Higher Education. He has worked for a number of archaeological organisations throughout the UK, including Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust, Milton Keynes Archaeology Unit, Bedfordshire County Archaeology Service and The Heritage Network. He has supervised on numerous small and large-scale fieldwork projects throughout the UK, ranging in date from the Mesolithic period through to World War II sites.

Calli Rouse BA PIFA Assistant Project Officer

Calli graduated from University College, Winchester in June 2004 with a BA in Archaeology. Before coming to ASC, she spent time volunteering with the Archaeological Officer at Milton Keynes Council. Calli took part in the South Quantocks Archaeological Survey, excavating at Vollis Hill in 2002 and Yarford in 2003. She has also undertaken work at Clarendon Palace, Wiltshire and Gordons Lodge, Milton Keynes. Calli joined ASC in January 2005.

Jenny Richards BA PIFA Assistant Project Officer

Jenny graduated from University of Leicester in 2003 with a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology. She has worked for several archaeological companies including University of Leicester Archaeological Services, and Cotswold Archaeology. Jenny s main area of interest is Romano-British archaeology and she has worked on several Romano-British sites in the Midlands, as well as prehistoric, medieval and post-medieval sites. She has also worked in Local Government, as an assistant on the Lancashire Extensive Urban Survey project. She joined ASC in July 2007.

Zoe Clarke Site/Finds Assistant

Zoe is a highly experienced archaeologist, having worked on a wide range of fieldwork projects since 1993 in Albania, Ireland, the Netherlands and the far East as well as the UK. Her employment with the Dutch State Archaeological Service also included supervision of environmental and finds work. In the UK Zoe has worked as Site Assistant and Supervisor for Lancaster Archaeological Unit, Wessex Archaeology, Canterbury Archaeological Trust, Norfolk Archaeology and Albion Archaeology, on a wide range of sites of all periods.

Chris Swain Site Assistant

Chris is an extremely experienced excavator, having worked since 1990 on a wide range of fieldwork projects in Ireland, the Netherlands and Sri Lanka as well as the UK. In the UK Chris has worked as Site Assistant and Supervisor on a wide range of sites of all periods for English Heritage, Lancaster Archaeological Unit, Wessex Archaeology, Canterbury Archaeological Trust, Norfolk Archaeology, Northamptonshire Archaeology and Albion Archaeology.

Ralph Brown BSc Hons Site Assistant

Ralph holds a degree from Sheffield University. He has been a professional archaeologist since 2004 and has worked for Oxford Archaeology as a Site Assistant and Assistant Supervisor. He has fieldwork experience in both urban and rural environments, covering a wide chronological period. He joined ASC in 2007.

Janice McLeish MA Hons Site Assistant

Janice graduated from Glasgow University in 2005. Prior to joining ASC in 2007, she worked for Oxford Archaeology as Site Assistant and Assistant Supervisor and has experience of a wide range of sites.

Caroline Barclay BA MA Administrative Assistant

Caroline is a graduate of the University of Wales, Lampeter, and joined ASC in 2006. She has worked in Scotland, Devon and Israel. Her special interests lie in the prehistory of the Near East, burials and archaeological theory.
